Lisa Ruetz - “The Baltimore Album Quilt Debut"
If you missed the August meeting you missed a good one. What a wonderful way to end the year!
Lisa Ruetz gave her first presentation about Baltimore Album Quilts.
Earlier in the day she gave a wonderful workshop on "Understanding the Baltimore Album Quilt and Broderie Perse"
Here are some highlights -
Remember when you used to have your friends sign an autograph book. Well, some gals in Baltimore decided books were boring and quilts were better.
To be a Baltimore Album Quilt, you have to be in made in, that's right Baltimore.
Hopefully it inspired everyone to get out there and applique. Or maybe it just inspired you to participate in the Guild's own tradition of autographed President's blocks.
If you have pictures from the night you'd like to see added to the blog, email them to piecesandpatchesquiltguild@gmail.com and I'll add them here.
