Quilt Guild Members Cindy Schultz and Shelby Wyant shared their expertise with a presentation on Modern Quilting at our meeting. This mother and daughter team are the owners of  Material Obsessions, a long arm quilting business in Tecumseh, Michigan.  They highlighted fabric by designer Marcia Derse of Ohio.  Her fabrics were also available for purchase.  Shelby Wyant explains the use of negative space - an ingredient in modern quilting in this picture.


Notice the extensive geometric quilting in the negative space on the quilt above and below.

 

 

Our mystery quilt projects were also displayed at this guild meeting.  Look at the variety of table runners that our members made, just in time for Christmas.
