We had a delightful time at Pieces and Patches Quilt Guild Monday, September 28, 2015 - as we hosted fiber artist Sally Manke.  Her presentation and trunk show were amazing and inspiring.

"ROCK THE BLOCK, Block Style"

In this class we will make a fractured landscape from a series of unique blocks, all created with my simple step-by-step process.

Making these blocks is simple enough for anyone, but as challenging as you want to make it.

All fun, all day.

SUPPLIES:

This is a machine sewing class, for which you will need standard machine sewing equipment:

 Extension cord, pins and etc.

 Rotary cutter, mat and rulers, including 6 or 6 1/2” square ruler

 One yard each of pink, green and brown cotton fabric

 Half-yard yard sky blue cotton fabric

 (Or choose your own set of 4 contrasting fabrics)

Beautiful Display - "The Love of Quilting" at the Eastern Branch Library of Jackson Public Library

At the Eastern Branch of the Jackson Public Library on East Michigan Avenue in Jackson, you can see a wonderful display of the vast variety of types of quilting that people are making.  Thank you to the Community Outreach Committee of our guild for organizing this great display.

We were delighted to have Karen Combs visit Pieces and Patches Quilt Guild on August 31, 2015 to teach us about the use of lights, mediums and darks in the color wheel to create a 3D illusion in fabric.
