March Is National Quilt Month

To commemorate National Quilt Month, a group of quilters led by Elizabeth Hewett, planned a "School House Quilt In".  Several dozen quilters meet together bringing their quilting projects to work on during the day, but that's not all.  Every hour, an accomplished quilter shared with the group on topics to enhance our knowledge and increase our love of quilting.
An amazing time was had by all!

March Guild Meeting

Thelma Forrest from Creative Quilts in Brighton shared with us at our March Guild Meeting.  We learned of her journey in getting involved in the world of quilting as she showed many of her quilts and samples done using some unique quilting   tools and kits.
Thelma also taught a class on making the 8 point star shown on the table runner shown below.

February Guild Meeting

Cheri Pickett, a member of our guild, is a Professional Quilt Appraiser having recently completed a rigorous certification process. Cheri  shared a wealth of information at our February guild meeting.
Cheri also showed us many antique quilts, several from her collection of fan quilts.

January 2016 Guild Meeting

As part of our January guild meeting, we honored one of the founding member of Pieces and Patches Quilt Guild.  Dorothy Lowe has been actively involved in our guild since its beginning, serving as president for two years and on the executive board for many years.  It was our pleasure to recognize her valuable contribution!
