Art Prize Winner Ann Loveless Visits Pieces and Patches Quilt Guild

What an honor it was for us to host quilter Ann Loveless at our November guild meeting.  She has twice won the coveted Grand Prize at the yearly art competition ART PRIZE in Grand Rapids - in 2013 for her quilted landscape of the "Sleeping Bear Lakeshore" and then again in 2015 for "Northwood Awakening" - a mixed media of Photography into Fabric - done with her husband, Steve.

Ann spoke with us about her journey as an artist and the different techniques she uses in her artwork.

Ann gave two workshops during her time in Jackson.  One workshop taught the Confetti Method in a Poppy project.  The other workshop was making a shoreline picture using the Collage Method.  Ann was an excellent teacher and everyone was so pleased with their projects!  Here are a few pictures from the workshop showing projects at various stages.
